High-Definition Baseball Glove

Project overview
A production-quality asset, built to hold up close.
This project focused on creating a production-quality 3D baseball glove with believable construction, clean topology and highly detailed leather materials. Every component—from the padded finger stalls and webbing to the laces, stitches and worn surface—was developed to hold up in close-up, high-resolution renders.

Challenge & solution
Organic form, resolved with technical precision.
The challenge
Balancing organic form with technical accuracy
A baseball glove combines soft padded volumes with a complex system of panels, finger channels, webbing, stitching and tightly threaded laces. The main challenge was to reproduce that layered construction while keeping the shape natural, the topology controlled and every close-up detail convincing.
Our solution
A detail-first product workflow
The glove was built as a structured 3D asset with carefully shaped panels and separate supporting elements. Clean edge flow preserved the padded silhouette, while layered leather, roughness variation, surface wear, stitching and studio lighting produced the final realistic presentation.

Selected final renders
The completed glove is presented from the palm, web and rear so its construction and material finish can be read from every angle.
Form to visualization
From form shaping to final render
The focused sequence shows how controlled edge flow and panel transitions lead into the final leather, wear, stitching and studio-light presentation.
Design details
The decisions behind the asset
Form & Proportion
The padded fingers, palm pocket and thumb were shaped to feel soft, functional and naturally compressed.
Clean Topology
Controlled quad-based edge flow supports smooth curvature while preserving the many seams and inset details.
Leather Material
Layered roughness, grain, scratches, colour variation and edge wear create a believable used-leather finish.
Studio Lighting
Soft directional lighting reveals the glove’s volume and texture without flattening the dark brown material.

What was created
Result
A complete product asset built for close-up presentation
The final work combines visible technical quality with a polished commercial finish. It can be presented as a portfolio piece, used in product-focused marketing, or adapted for animation and interactive 3D workflows.
- 01Convincing detail at close range
- 02Consistent quality across multiple angles
- 03Technical wireframes demonstrate modelling quality
- 04Final renders communicate material and construction clearly
